What are some ways I can share the Good News of Jesus Christ with friends who are nonbelievers?

This is probably one of the toughest things for Christian teens to do because we want to be accepted by our friends and the awkwardness that arises when we bring up Jesus and salvation is scary. But there are more comfortable ways to share the Good News. You could invite them to your church’s youth event (a service, a group outing, or a retreat). They would feel more comfortable at these events because there tend to be more teens in attendance than adults.

Some spiritual message is usually presented during these events, so afterward, ask you friend if they enjoyed themselves and what they may have gotten from the message; that should open up more discussion about Christ. You could also ask your friends what their spiritual belief is; if it’s different from yours, ask them about it and share what your belief is.

If the conversation can occur without anyone being offended or becoming offensive, you can learn about someone else’s spirituality and peacefully challenge their beliefs by sharing yours. (My Muslim friends and I do this all the time.) Or, like often done in my novels, if you happen to be the person your friends (believers or not) come to for advice when they’re going through hard times, take the opportunity to pray with and witness to them. Let them know that God is always with them no matter what and share Scriptures that could help them get through the situation and hopefully lead them to Christ.
