And that’s when it hit him,
a thought that seemed odd–
All bears were once babies–
so what about God?

"Phillip W. Rodgers’ books are delightful-from the engaging illustrations to the clever poetry to the eternal truths they teach. I am using them with my grandchildren-and enjoying them as much, if not more, than the children. As I read them I am reminded of the great realities about God that sometimes get forgotten in my busy, grown-up world. Thank you, Phillip Rodgers, for new classics."

–Ruth Graham
Author, speaker, and president of Ruth Graham and Friends

"Phillip W. Rodgers has a true giftedness to take the deepest truths of the Bible and explain them to our little ones in such exciting stories. Read these stories to your children and the God of the Bible will come alive."

–Dr. Johnny Hunt
Pastor, First Baptist Church of Woodstock, GA

BOOK REVIEW | The Amazing Bible Factbook for Kids

image The Amazing Bible Factbook for Kids
American Bible Society

The Amazing Bible Factbook for Kids is full of interesting, fun facts about the bible. The book includes factual information about some of the following topics: Angels, Animals, Clothing and Cosmetics, Food, Geography, Health, Heaven, Kids in the Bible, Language, Movies, Music and a ton of other topics.

I really like how the book follows the magazine-style design that you find in many books these days. I’m sure this makes the book even more attractive for an inquisitive youngster. This will surely make a great reference book for family devotion time or individual reading. There are quizzes and puzzles found throughout the book as well.

While the book was created for kids, this is a great tool for adults too! ;)

Sharing -yes; whining – no. Telling the truth and cleaning up – yes; arguing and not following the rules- no. Seems simple enough, but as a kid the picture may seem unclear as they battle the same impulses that adults do when deliberating over right and wrong and where to draw boundaries. Based upon principles from the million-plus best-selling book, Boundaries, by the author team of Dr. Henry Cloud & Dr. John Townsend, Tori Cloud helps children learn at an early age the value of setting and keeping boundaries to be safe, happy and obedient to God.

Am I Making God Smile? Am I Making God Smile?
by Jeannie St. John Taylor

Gold Medallion finalist author, Jeannie St. John Taylor, returns with her engaging character, Erik. Nothing seems to be going right today for Erik. For breakfast, it’s an empty box of toaster waffles and a jug of spoiled milk. Then he’s late for school and is stuck with Chuck as his partner. But instead of getting mad, Erik finds that he can easily turn bad things into things that make God smile—and they’re the same things that make Erik smile, too.

BOOK REVIEW | Am I Trusting?

Am I Trusting? Am I Trusting?
by Jeannie St. John Taylor

Erik—a realistic and engaging character—returns in this hilariously illustrated book that convinces kids that God can be trusted. Despite falling in the creek and slopping hogs—the awfulness, stinkiest, scariest job on the farm—Erik learns to face his fears and trust God . . . he even finds that the thing he fears most may actually be a lot of fun.

REVIEW FOR PARENT:

Erik goes to his Aunt Laurel’s farm for a visit. Being away from home Erik discover new and scary things (thanks to cousin Sloan). While his fears overwhelm him he decides to trust in God. This was a delightful book because it taps into how children think and overemphasize fears. Parents are given great instructions on how to use the book with their child. The illustrations by the author are cute and right on point! – aKidzfaith
