David Kauffman is still mourning the death of his daughter Emily. Riddled with severe depression, Emily successfully committed suicide to her father's shock. Unable to get over his daughter's death, he comes in contact with a company that sponsors a program called Life After Life. He befriends one of the employees, Gita Patekar. Gita is a Christian who believes strongly in the truth. In her desire to help David through his grieving, she opens wounds to her brutally, stained past.

Under the guidance of Dr. Richard Griffin, Gita's boss, David is led through a virtual reality program that allows him to talk with Emily - or so it seems. David and Gita soon find out that the folks at Life After Life will go to extremes to keep the "truth" from coming out.

There is no doubt that people have been fascinated with talking with deceased loved ones. In recent years, this has been exploited via television and various other forms of media. This fast-paced suspense novel is backed with scripture for those wondering about psychics and mediums. While fictional, the author provides thought provoking scenarios. The ending seems to be a cliff-hanger - it will be interesting to see if Bill Myers explores this subject further in a future book.
